NPAmp is an accurate, fast, and extensible numerical model of a laser amplifier. I developed it as part of my Master’s thesis project at the Faculty of Physics, Sofia University, under guidance by Assoc. Prof. Ivan Buchvarov and Assist. Prof. Alexander Gaydardzhiev.

Features

  • Describes the propagation of single pulses, as well as pulse trains.
  • Accounts for amplified spontaneous emission and the finite lower-state lifetime.
  • Guarantees physically consistent and, where possible, numerically stable results.
  • Determines optimal methods and parameters based on specified error tolerances.
  • Produces publication-quality plots.
